Notes for an Eye Fire was the first edition of Panorama, a transdisciplinary series at MACBA focused on artistic practices in and around Barcelona. On view from 22 October 2021 to 27 February 2022, it was curated by Hiuwai Chu and Latitudes (Max Andrews and Mariana Cánepa Luna). The title takes from a 2020 poetry book by Gabriel Ventura. The exhibition gathered commissioned and recent works across painting, sculpture, works on paper, video installation, performance, photography and textiles, using sight as a starting point to question the dominance of vision and propose other ways of perceiving and producing knowledge.
