TONDRA
Art production initiative by the Samdani Art Foundation. Ten Bangladeshi artists, score-based commissions across international institutions.
TONDRA is an art production initiative of the Samdani Art Foundation that pairs ten Bangladeshi artists with a group of curators and mentors to develop score-based commissions. The works are conceived to unfold across partner institutions through the end of 2026 and form the core of a reimagined Dhaka Art Summit. The participating artists are Ashfika Rahman, Joydeb Roaja, Kamruzzaman Shadhin, Laisul Haque, Munem Wasif, Promiti Hossain, Reetu Sattar, Samsul Alam Helal, Sumi Anjuman and Yasmin Jahan Nupur. The initiative is led by artistic director Diana Campbell with foundation curators Ruxmini Reckvana Q Choudhury and Swilin Haque. Hiuwai Chu (Head of Exhibitions, MACBA) is among the guest curators, alongside Christina Li, Helena Kritis, Mohamed Almusibli, Nora Razian, Indranjan Banerjee and Lucas Morin. Commissions are presented in partnership with institutions including MACBA, Sonsbeek, WIELS, Kunsthalle Basel and Art Jameel.
