On 6 April 2017 Hiuwai Chu, curator of the exhibition, spoke with Akram Zaatari at MACBA in connection with Akram Zaatari. Against Photography. An Annotated History of the Arab Image Foundation. The conversation addressed the multiple conditions of the photographic document, its place in artistic discourse and the readings and stories that can be drawn from it. The exhibition, curated by Chu with Bartomeu Marí, drew on the collections of the Arab Image Foundation and the work of its co-founder.
