Bangladeshi visual and performance artist born in Chittagong in 1979. Works across textile, soft sculpture, drawing, installation and performance, focusing on class, migration and the lives of women in South Asia. Her ongoing Let Me Get You a Nice Cup of Tea piece stages one-to-one conversations with visitors over tea; recent work engages the Jamdani weaving tradition. Included in the 2013 Bangladesh Pavilion at Venice.
