Portuguese poet, visual artist and performer, born in Funchal, Madeira, in 1949. A central figure of Portuguese experimental poetry since the late 1960s, working across performance, happenings, video, photography and early computer-generated poetry. Political exile in Sweden, 1969–74. Associated with the PO.EX movement.
